jessica is coming for 4th of july weekend! whoo hoo!

(this is especially exciting because she will be my first visitor in the YEAR i've lived in chicago.)

Hey, out of curiosity, what do you think are the best staples for Chicago visitors? I'm never really sure where to take people when they come visit. Do I want them to see all the touristy stuff or the more intimate, cultural side of Chicago? If it's the latter, then I need to find out where the intimate, cultural side of Chicago is. Heh.

well, i'm definitely taking her to some of my basics - the art institute, for one. but i also plan to drag her around wicker park a bit, for food and booze, and, luckily, a taste of chicago is that weekend, so free eats!

i'm also at somewhat of a loss for the "intimate, cultural side of chicago." i don't want to drag her to a bunch of galleries, but maybe there'll be an opening or two the night she arrives.

sounds awesome! The sonicvision show at the Planetarium is supposed to be really amazing if you want to check that out. I think it's on Friday and Saturday nights at about ten bucks a pop.
