file this under: i'm a fucking idiot
Jun. 26th, 2003 09:34 amso, i left my headlights on last night. genius. which means that not only was i an hour and a half late for work today (not really a big deal, as my boss is in a mediation all day), but i had to pay ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS for a new battery. i think i got hosed, but what do you do? at least the guy who installed it was really nice, and erased the service call from my account, so i get one more free call.
j1 & k2 and i went to canal club in venice for happy hour (mojitos!) and yummy appetizers last night. goat cheese taquitos & brie quesadillas . . . i'm going to miss california cuisine.
then k2 and i went to see the eye, a chinese movie about a blind woman who gets a cornea transplant, and starts seeing dead people. it was pretty good, and there were some really good scares in the first half. a scene in an elevator almost made me jump out of my skin. the second half wasn't as interesting, when they get into the reason WHY she's seeing the dead people, but k2 really liked it. all in all, i'd give it a solid *** review.
and . . . drumroll please . . . i scored an import copy of the dandy warhols' new album, welcome to the monkey house! whoo hoo! europe's had it for a month or two, but capitol's not releasing it in the u.s. until the end of august, 'cause they're a bunch of assholes. anyway, it rocks my socks, especially "we used to be friends" and "plan a". i plan to annoy the hell out of everyone at the office by listening to it all day long.
