alexeyethe video store guy was playing this album last night, and i'd forgotten how much i love listening to it in the summer.
i rented the believer, which was hard to watch. mostly because of that frightshow wig they put on billy zane. kidding! no, really, it's a very disturbing movie. despite having dated my share of jewish boys, i know very little about judaism itself, and i'm sure it would have even more resonance if i had more knowledge. but it's still a powerful piece of work. ryan gosling shows so much skill: i mean, he was good in murder by numbers, the only other movie i've seen him in, but he displayed only a fraction of the talent you see in the believer. it's a gut-punch of a performance.
DAMN, i love this album.
i think i found a third apartment to visit in chi-town. that makes me feel better: i was a bit nervous about going to see just two. three fills more of my time, and gives me more options, although i think my first appointment is going to be my best fit. but what will i do with my saturday night? my friend is in costa rica, and i'll get into town around 8 . . . maybe i'll go see the hulk, since none of my friends in l.a. want to see it.
