i love bollywood!

just got back from a three-hour bollywood film (kandukondain, kandukondain, or, i have found it!), which was fabulous and fun. i think i'm going to see another one on wednesday, mostly because it stars aamir kahn, my very tiny imaginary indian boyfriend. kandukondain is actually an adaptation of sense & sensibility (!), but set in modern-day madras. there are tons of in-jokes about bollywood movie-making, only some of which i got.

only a few hours until the dandy warhols! we're going to try and get there early so we can scalp a ticket for dre, since the show's totally sold out. either way, it's going to fuckin' rock . . .

Oh my gosh, alexeye! Tell me where you are seeing Bollywood films in Chicago!!! My boyfriend is Indian has been wanting to see indian movies for years but doesnt know where to see them. (He's really more American, born here, only speaks English etc. so when his parents retired to India a few years ago he kind of lost touch with his roots, so to speak.) I would so love to surprise him with a Bollywood flick!

Thanks! I'm going to try to get to the one this Wed., but I think Hari has to work late. That one looks the most interesting to me, but the Sense and Sensibility one looks good, too.

yeah, i'm really hoping to get all of my reading done on tuesday, so i can go to the wednesday film. crossing my fingers . . .
