tough questions! thanks!
1. What is the most selfless thing you would be willing to do for a loved one? A stranger?
i would drop everything if someone i loved really needed me. i figure that most everything else in life can be worked around or made up later if need be, but not friendship or love: that's something you have to put the ultimate priority on. i don't know about strangers, though. it takes me a while to trust people, so there's always a sliver of doubt or cynicism when it comes to strangers. it's a trait i'd like to work on.
2. What will you miss most about California?
i hate to be typical, but it's probably going to be the weather. i hate humidity, and i know chicago is VERY humid. apart from that, i know i'm going to miss the mountains. even in l.a., canyons & mountains are not very far away. oh, and i'll miss the vast quantities of good mexican food. and beer, california & mexican beer. okay, you asked for one thing, so i'll stop now.
3. What is the weirdest movie you have seen? And liked?
wow, that's REALLY tough. i watch so many damn movies that sometimes it's hard to pull one or two out of the ol' memory banks. well, eraserhead is up there, as is the ruling class. i think i was a few years too young when i saw eraserhead, and it was really hard for me to wrap my brain around. the ruling class is one of those movies that gets WEIRDER the more i think about it. but i also love it more the more i think about it. i know i'm forgetting something that i'll remember as soon as i post this. stupid sleepy brain.
4. What is the most exotic food you have ever eaten?
probably the octopus i tried in spain. before i became a vegetarian, i wasn't very adventurous when it came to cuisine . . . i've had to be a lot more flexible since i gave up meat, which has been an unexpected benefit. but, yeah, probably the octopus. i liked calamari, but the octopus was waaaaay too rubbery for me. maybe it wasn't cooked right.
5. If you could create a television show/movie, who would you pick to direct it, write it, and what 3 stars would star in it?
actually, i think i'd commission another season of twin peaks. all episodes would be written & directed by lynch himself. will dale ever get out of the red room? is there any way to destroy bob? did audrey really die? will someone please kill james hurley already? we NEED answers to these questions. plus, fertile ground for new guest stars! i'd pick willem dafoe, justin theroux, and bring jack nance back from the dead. they're all lynch graduates, anyway.
