i'm reeeeeally tired this morning, as i got about 4 hours of sleep last night. i'm hoping i'll get off work early today, because i've got to hightail my butt out to los feliz to get my hair cut this evening, and i want to take a little rest before hitting venice bars with the girls tonight. ah, my cross-town adventures.

last night, j1 and i went to the ivar, a mucho trendy club in hollywood. we're not really trendsters, but we like good music, and mark farina was spinning an awesome house set. things started out well: we were nice to the bouncer, so we didn't have to wait in line, and the set-up of the club was extremely cool. but we soon discovered that the crowd SUCKED. so many people running right into us, walking right through us, no apologies . . . do i look like a fuckin' hallway?!?!?

near 2am, we were taking a break on the upstairs balcony, and we saw a guy on the dance floor who was being held up by the wall behind him, and not too much more. he was massively fucked up: either e, or a lot of k. he seemed to be getting worse and worse, so j1 thought we should get him a water, and see if he was okay, since it looked like he was by himself. by the time we fought our way through the bar & got downstairs, he was lying on the floor, totally unconscious. dozens of people were dancing around him, paying no notice. we tried to wake him up, with no luck. i grabbed security for help, and we went back to the dance floor.

when we left the club a half hour later, we saw our fucked-up friend again: slumped on the sidewalk a couple of yards from the entrance. security was really fucking helpful: they just dumped him out there. we stood there, trying to decide if there was anything we could do, until some asshole on a cell phone walked by, and started making fun of us for trying to help him out. we got SO mad, and started yelling at him.

but we couldn't do anything for the unconscious guy. we tried looking for a cop, but, no luck. apparently, they don't spend much time on hollywood blvd. at 2:30 in the morning.

after last night, i'm not so sad that i'm leaving l.a. soon.
