why does this have to happen today?

i hate banks. all banks. this morning, my bank notified me that $800 my boss paid me on tuesday had bounced, but it had bounced out of the wrong account (checking, not savings), and had overdrawn me by $75. so i called the bank, told them that they'd somehow messed it up, got the overdraft taken out of the right account, and the extra charges reversed.

fine. then i talked to my boss, who told me he was sure the check had cleared. we went across the street to his bank, where they verified what he'd told me, and gave me a printout of the paid check. i took that to my bank. they refused to accept it. so i went back to my boss's bank, told them the bank manager needed to write me a letter stating that the check had been paid, and then my bank would credit my account.

unfortunately, the manager told me that the letter would not be ready until maybe 2-3pm today. maybe. and once i get it, i have to go back to my bank, and make sure they do the credit.

i was really, really hoping i'd get off early today, and now my plans are fucked. but i can't let this wait until monday: i need that $800 for the weekend, bills, to pay southwest airlines, etc.

it's just so frustrating, and i'm so tired today that i almost started crying when talking to the second bank manager.

but it's okay, everything should work out, and i can look forward to lunch with jangrl, a fabulous haircut & drinks with the girls tonight.
