Jun. 28th, 2004 10:59 ami'm slowly getting my 15/15 packages out, in batches. i have no time lately! the earliest i got off work last week was 6pm, and this week will be no different.
i think i've finally adjusted to my new schedule - i'm sleeping well, and have been waking up alert instead of groggy. i'm sure it won't last.
movies watched this weekend -
* the devil's backbone - i saw this in the theater, but had forgotten how much i'd liked it. i wish del toro would go back to doing stuff in this vein after he completes hellboy 2. not that i dislike his more conventional action pictures, but i think there's richer stuff for him to mine in the more hybrid horror/history/drama/fantasy genre.
* the station agent - as if i needed another reason to be totally in love with bobby cannavale . . . anyway, it was an excellent little film. the acting was superb, and the whole thing had the feel of a tom dicillo movie, like box of moonlight without the acid-trip quality.
* institute benjamenta - the brothers quay are like david lynch without narrative thrust.
* broken lizard's club dread - not nearly as much fun as super troopers, but still quite enjoyable, and the perfect remedy to a somewhat blah and tiring afternoon.
