i'm slowly getting my 15/15 packages out, in batches. i have no time lately! the earliest i got off work last week was 6pm, and this week will be no different.

i think i've finally adjusted to my new schedule - i'm sleeping well, and have been waking up alert instead of groggy. i'm sure it won't last.

movies watched this weekend -

* the devil's backbone - i saw this in the theater, but had forgotten how much i'd liked it. i wish del toro would go back to doing stuff in this vein after he completes hellboy 2. not that i dislike his more conventional action pictures, but i think there's richer stuff for him to mine in the more hybrid horror/history/drama/fantasy genre.

* the station agent - as if i needed another reason to be totally in love with bobby cannavale . . . anyway, it was an excellent little film. the acting was superb, and the whole thing had the feel of a tom dicillo movie, like box of moonlight without the acid-trip quality.

* institute benjamenta - the brothers quay are like david lynch without narrative thrust.

* broken lizard's club dread - not nearly as much fun as super troopers, but still quite enjoyable, and the perfect remedy to a somewhat blah and tiring afternoon.

hee! i thought i was the only one with a thing for bobby cannavale! the guru has been on cable and even though he's in it for like a grand total of 15 minutes i have watched it like 7 times in the last week.

i am soooooo having his babies. as a bonus, i think he's really talented - everything he does is so different - oz, kingpin, the station agent, etc.

awesome! i love showing off that i can put my fist through the really huge ones. i have been told not to do this trick while drinking.

the post-its came on saturday - they're great, and the boy covets them. i am now post-it solid for at least a month or two.

I love Box of Moonlight, so I'll definitely be checking out The Station Agent as soon as possible.

Congrats on the new apartment! Sounds fucking awesome. What part of Chicago is it in?

I am so jealous. I love Wicker Park. It's so ... not yuppie. I love watching people walking around in Wicker Park. So many kickass outfits. I was just there last week at the Art and Science salon--they were doing some hair show and asked me to be a hair model (which is a sugary way of saying, "Hey, do you mind sacrificing your hair and letting us do whatever shit we want to do to it?"). Surprisingly, they didn't shave my head and I actually like how it turned out. Thank God.
