sunny days everywhere . . .
Jun. 25th, 2003 09:05 amlooks like we're finally getting sun here on the west coast, too. it's about damn time: i don't think it's been this nice since april. of course, i won't be able to enjoy a beach weekend, as i'll be in chicago, but at least it's nice there, too.
i can't believe i have a little over a month left in california. not even a month and a half. damn. i paid my last round of house bills today. weird. i'm really looking forward to the cross-country drive. i've never done anything like that before. i'm going to go through the southwest first, hopefully stopping by the grand canyon, which i've never seen, and then up through colorado, over to nebraska, iowa (to see my grandma), and finally, chicago.
now that i'm done with order of the phoenix (and mailed it to my dad: he's so cute), i've started robert evans' autobiography, the kid stays in the picture. it'll be an interesting counterpart to one of my favorite books, easy riders, raging bulls, which is all about the film industry in the 70's. even though he's not yet 20 in the book, there's already SO much to disbelieve. did he really go out with grace kelly? the man gives "sleaze" new meaning, but at least he doesn't spare himself when he's pointing his pen at others . . .

Date: 2003-06-25 10:52 am (UTC)easy riders should serve as some sort of warning to those who make too much money, or gain too much power, too fast. kind of like how requiem for a dream functions as a great anti-drug tract.
