it's google's new email. it offers an enormous amount of storage space, and alternatives to the usual sort of email sorting methods - you can catergorize and "star" messages instead of putting them in folders, and you can search your email in the same way as using a search engine. they're still testing it, so they offer "invites." i only use mine for certain things, but it's neat.
