because life has been kinda crappy and extremely exhausting lately, i think i need to keep reminding myself that things really aren't so bad:
1) my friend is back from the gulf war! and i'm going to have lunch with him tomorrow! i'm so happy!
2) i actually made a doctor's appointment for myself without waiting the customary 2-3 weeks of putzing around for no apparent reason.
3) j1 has offered her apartment & laundry room to me this afternoon, so i don't have to rush to get home & back out to the west side before k2's birthday tonight, and i'll have clean clothes for tonight & the weekend with my dad. i'm going to buy her some fresh fruit at the farmer's market as a thank-you gift.
4) my dad arrives tomorrow! i'm looking forward to a good day in pasadena with him on saturday or sunday. i've never been to the norton simon museum, though i've lived in l.a. for six years now. they're supposed to have a fantastic east asian art collection.
5) yoga class was great last night, even if i did have a very awkward run-in with j1's neighborboy and his "friend." asshat.
6) i'm reading the witches of eastwick, and i like it a lot so far. i've seen the movie a couple of times, but the book's different, because the women in the book have their witching powers BEFORE darryl arrives, so it's not so much like he's responsible for/in control of their magic.
7) nic harcourt is playing an instrumental version of eminem's "without me." it's really funny.
