i felt wretched last night - probably some weird combination of dehydration and bad IHOP, though i wouldn't discount some form of seasonal depression. the weather has been really nice for chicago, but i'm still not used to seeing so little of the sun. in any case, tabris took great care of me, and i'm feeling better this morning, though still a little off-balance.

it's hard not having a real schedule during such a long vacation. i think that might be affecting me, too.

i finished cosmopolis last night - i thought it was great, though the final confrontation ran a bit close to the end of white noise. now i'm a good quarter of the way into oryx & crake, which i'm enjoying, even though some of the early story developments have been rather transparent. still, it's hard for me to dislike atwood's writing, and i especially like her science fiction (though alias grace and the robber bride are probably my favorites).
