any answers would be greatly appreciated, as one person has already replied to my answer to an ad, stating that my resume came across jumbled . . .

what's the best way to present my resume via email? i've heard attachments are bad, but if so, how do i go about creating a non-jumbled version of my resume for email use?

i think attachments are ok if you have the most recent version of word. the problem with attachments is that if you do weird formatting with your contact info on the top, sometimes it won't come out, or it gets lost if you try to forward it. when people send me resumes i have begun specifically asking they send it as a text file as well. the difference is that i have a tiny operation, so i don't have a lot of volume. i'd imagine people who get tons of resume will just pitch something rather than try to track down the person.

yeah, that's what i'm afraid of, if they're getting deluged with attachments. she asked me to send it in adobe, when she told me she had trouble reading it, but i can't translate it on my computer. i'll save a text-only version for an attachment, as you said.

thanks!

I was just going to put in a vote for Adobe PDF. You can go to the Adobe website and get a free trial, which lets you create three PDF files. All you have to do is upload your document...
