wasting time

it's shocking that a 30 minute commute by el takes less than 10 minutes by car-- the downside being the enormous cost of parking. i sucked it up today, because i had to move my car from 5-10 tonight because the cubs are playing a night game. and if i didn't drive into the loop today, i would have had to cut out early from work this afternoon, go home on the train, pick up my car, and drive BACK downtown to catch a movie with dre and mel. i figure the extra $5 i'm paying to park all day is worth it.

i have another job interview in an hour-- wish me luck! it's not to replace my current job, which i like so far, but to supplement it. it'll mean working all day on fridays, but i can deal with that. hell, i think i can deal with ANY office schedule after 2 years of full-time.

i LOVE our graduate student lounge. it's pretty spiffy. pretty new macs, comfy couches, and a light table, not to mention several shelves of reference books. i foresee myself spending a lot of time in here. oh! and they have a little refrigerator and microwave, too! yippee!

the interview went well, but they're still seeing a few other people, so i won't know until friday. i feel good about it, but i don't want to get cocky . . . problem is, i have another interview tomorrow morning, for a job i don't really want, and i'm considering blowing it off. i have reading & banking & lots of actual important stuff to do tomorrow, instead. hmmmm . . .
