i'm looking for more films that may fit this thesis topic, and any suggestions would be greatly appreciated . . .

thesis - that the emasculation/feminization of the male through consumer culture inevitably leads to violence. i may also tie feminization to celebrity culture and workplace ennui. also, i'm still trying to figure out where the straight male's fear of homosexuality fits into this, because it obviously does.

films - american psycho, fight club, midnight cowboy, looking for mr. goodbar.

Have you read Ann Douglas' The Feminization of American Culture? It's way before your period but it might be interesting background/theoretical info.
