i got so much done this weekend, school-wise, that i actually started reading FICTION! yay! i'm re-reading will self's how the dead live, which is alternatly really depressing and very, very funny.

i was (finally) somewhat social last night - mel and i went to play pool at this great dive bar in her neighborhood, then ran home as fast as we could to catch carnivale. damn, ben is dumb.

mel is managing a newly-hatched art gallery, and her first show is in about two weeks. she has a bunch of booking gaps this winter - too bad i had to tell her that i have almost no paintings in chicago . . . but it was quite sweet of her to offer me a show without ever having seen my work. i don't think what i do is good enough for a real gallery show.

I wish Carnivale was just a little more weird, but it's still pretty good. It's too bad its on opposite Alias so I have to catch it later in the week :(

So do you think "management" is the fetus in the jar?

yeah, i think management's trailer looks suspiciously like the trailer-that-wasn't-there. and management had that photograph of ben's mother, which ben had found in the phantom trailer . . .

I just caught the "Insomnia" episode, one of the best so far, at least as far as filling in the gaps. I'm starting to think that Lodz has no powers of his own but steals them from other people (like Scudder, Apollonia, and now Ben).

It looks like Justin is going to turn into one of those evil religious televangelists that gained notoriety in the Depression - that should be interesting. I can't help but think of Matt Damon's character in Dogma whenever I hear him talk about the "left hand of god" stuff.

Everyone on the carnivale_hbo community loves to commiserate about how different people must be related to eachother. That would be a little too soap opera for me.

mmm...carnivale. one thing i really missed about going on vacation was not having hbo.

i wouldn't dream of un-gifting. i need to make new work, figure out some time during the week that i can set aside to paint.
