Bandit queen is a great movie, but really hard to take.

i was especially fascinated (and surprised) by the concentration on caste politics. and as disturbing as the film was, i really want to read more about phoolan devi now.

i kept looking for clues as to how the same director could have accomplished such a polished film as elizabeth only a few years later.

we're watching for my film class, and the prof. is splitting it over saturday and sunday. why he has to do this during finals, i don't know, but i'm certain it's going to be quite an experience.
