after a week of forgetting my not for tourists guide to chicago at home, i'm finally starting my chicago apartment search. wish me luck!

i've also typed 2,419 memos for my boss this morning, and cleared off my desk. now if i could only get my ass in gear about the piles of papers waiting to be filed right behind me . . .

the maps in that book were pretty helpful when i was in town in may: i like having them in book form, rather than re-folding one honkin' big piece of paper.

i wandered around wicker park, bucktown & wrigleyville last month, so i'm primarily interested in those areas, but i'm keeping my options open.

after only a day, i've gotten two positive responses. one is a girl with a fabulous-sounding apartment in old town (she's going to send me pictures later this week), and another is a girl in logan square. hopefully, the remainder of my search will be this easy. i'm crossing my fingers.

Yay! My roommate got me the boxed set for Christmas, and we watched the whole thing over the course of a shockingly few number of days. It wasn't quite as bad as when we watched all of Twin Peaks (including Fire Walk With Me) over the course of I think four days in the middle of finals week in college, but still. :)

Are you looking for your own apartment or talking to people who are looking for roommates? I assume you have already snooped around the Reader and Craigslist? Those would be my numbers one and two choices of where to look for a place and/or a roommate.

heh. i'm acquainted with massive twin peaks marathons. only too well.

so far, i'm just using craigslist. i'll expand my search in another week or so, if i need to. i'm mainly talking to people who need roommates, because if i live on my own, i'm afraid i'll turn into a hermit.
