yay! the DMV finally cashed my car registration check. i was getting kind of worried about it, since i mailed my renewal form almost a month ago. whew.

hopefully, the IRS will get me my W2 replacement in the next few days, so that i can finally file my taxes and fill out my FAFSA. once it's done, i'll finally have that fucking ass of an ex-employer out of my life for good.

i just printed out over 100 pages of m. m. bhaktin for my self & other class. if i have to read the whole damn thing, i'm going to cry.

is it hard to get a replacement W2? I'm WAITING for my ex employer to send me mine, they sent it to the wrong address and apparently can't just send me a replacement! I have to call them back too, but if it's a piece of cake maybe I should go the IRS route?

it is NOT hard to get a replacement W2 - you're allowed to call the IRS after february 15th and let them know that you have not recieved your W2. they will send a letter to your employer, with a copy to you and a replacement form for you to fill out in order to file.

there may be some adjustments when your W2 from the employer finally does come through, but in the meantime, you can go ahead and file. and if you know exactly what you were paid last year and what was withheld, you shouldn't have to adjust later.
