Apr. 12th, 2004 06:52 pmthough i couldn't find any shoes to suit me (sad), i had a very productive day -
* job #1
* bought plane ticket, solidified (some) arrangements with cali girls.
* replaced nasty old lost pizza cutter with shiny, nifty new one.
* prezzie for the boy.
* window-shopped for spring clothing, and bought a new brownish cardigan/sweatshirt to replace my rapidly disintegrating one. it's been a closet staple for about two years now, and i was in a panic about replacing it. the new one isn't quite the same color, but the cut is almost exact, and it was only EIGHT DOLLARS at urban outfitters, 'cause the salesgirl was an idiot and wasted 10 minutes of my time looking up the price, when i told her that there was an identical one on the rack upstairs.
* renewed my auto insurance - changing from l.a. to chicago saved me TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS! if only i'd done it six months ago . . .
* read some bakhtin.
i still have a few hundred dollars from my tax returns. i need to go to the optometrist and the dentist, but i think i'm going to have to wait on the latter - probably too expensive right now, since i have no dental insurance. i would also like some new spring clothes, and perhaps i could balance a little money in cash and a little on my newly paid-off credit cards in order to buy a few nice things.

Date: 2004-04-12 06:02 pm (UTC)anyway, if you decide to go and you need a recommendation, let me know. my dentist is in the building my office is in, which is right across the street from nw hospital. he is so nice and has a very gentle chairside manner.

Date: 2004-04-12 07:53 pm (UTC)my dentist is stuart goodman and his offices are at 233 e erie, ste 210
the number is 312 280 0034
his receptionist (also his wife) is kind of... abrasive. so just be warned. she's really nice, just kind of blunt.
anyway, it's about 1/2 mile from the red line chicago stop, but the michigan express buses stop at erie and michigan from the north and ontario and michiganfilethe south. it's just a block and a half east from there.
