Mar. 28th, 2004 01:16 pmbeing "grounded" for the weekend is excellent. i got an enormous amount of reading done yesterday and this morning, and now i'm settling in to work on a paper for a little bit.
i want to go to new york for my birthday next year, because the new christo/jeanne-claude project will be up for 16 days in february. i'm dying to see one of their works in person, and there was the sweetest article about them in this week's new yorker.

Date: 2004-03-29 05:47 am (UTC)the new project is in central park - they're erecting more than 7,000 "gates" of bright saffron fabric that will extend along all of the walking paths in the park. they've been trying to erect the project since the 70's, but were only able to do so since bloomberg (a collector of theirs) became mayor. it'll be their first new york-based work, though they've lived in the city since the 60's.
